Earlier this summer my dear friends T & S tied the knot. I was honored to do their wedding florals for them. T knew she wanted a modern wedding, but was open from the very beginning with what I wanted to bring to the table. They got married at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at CSULB, which was lush all throughout so my florals didn’t need to make a big appearance. Their reception was in the Sculpture Garden at the MOLAA in Long Beach and it was a feast for the eyes… the vivid colored walls, the fun quirky sculptures, the various levels and planes of space… I loved it! We decided to go with white, yellow, green and pops of teal. Please enjoy the photos from Kawabori Photography! Wedding coordinator: Zoie Events.
We decided to go with jelly belly favors, and I helped design the labels. The guest names were on the top of the boxes, and their table numbers were on the front… talk about personalized.
Check out that color. Beautiful shot. T’s bouquet is definitely one of my favorites ever. SO classic and beautiful.
There was a large stage that I dressed up with lots of pomanders… and kept it low to not obstruct the band or slideshow screen. Lots of flower balls.. what better way to incorporate florals in a sculpture garden?
T & S are officially married! I was honored with the opportunity of designing their wedding flowers for them & cannot wait to share pics from their awesome and fun photogs Amy & Paul Kawabori. Here’s a teaser from their wedding day, an image of T & her oh so pretty gals.. i love the freshness and airiness of this image:
(um, how about those shoes?!)
Again, I was a guest as well as a vendor, which is always hectic, but with the help of my awesomeeeee team, I was relieved of stress and was able to sleep the night prior AND enjoy myself at the wedding (yes, i got to dance my arse off this time… and i love to dance!). Congrats again you lovely people I get to call friends. Thanks for allowing me creative freedom from the very beginning… and enjoying your perfect day! to end that perfect day, we paraded to Roscoe’s for some late night chicken and waffles with the bride & groom! and oh was it delish… 😀
The following day we headed to my brother’s for his daughter’s 4th birthday party, a Hello Kitty themed party!!! My kinda party. And then shortly after that we celebrated with N’s brother, because the 4th is his birthday (how special to always have fireworks on your birthday!). Today was a lazy and grand food adventure with N’s sister, having quite the bbq spread. It ended with a date night at The Foundry with our fave foodies J+Laur. I am SO full! But man a day with good food is a good day indeed.
SO now I am officially on Crunch time with my own wedding, folks. SIGH…. With about 2 months left to get it all together (oh, and invitations designed and finalized and SENT out), I am slightly feeling the rush… but here’s a peek at my bridal shower invites that I did enjoy leisurely doing… (yes, control freak, HAD to design my own). I’ve never attended a real tea party before and am really excited for my own that my sister is hosting! I like that they are all mismatched pieces, much like the tea cups and saucers we’ll be having.
Have a great short week!!
